MetroPelican - The Educational Outreach Department of the New Orleans Opera

Our motto is "opera in the classroom and the classroom at the opera." We bring smaller-scale productions to the schools as an introduction to the art form. We also provide student groups the opportunity to attend, free of charge, the final dress rehersals of each of our four main stage operas. 1. The MetroPelican Opera touring company takes three offerings to the schools - "Opera a la carte", "Hansel and Gretel," and "A celebration in Song," 2. Preview performances - student groups come to us for the final dress rehersals of each othe the main 4 stage operas.
